After being treated to glorious summer days, September signals the arrival of Autumn and with it, our cue to tuck ourselves away in Westwell Parish Hall as rehearsals begin for our November pantomime ‘After the Beanstalk’.

After two successful readthroughs led by Kay Davis on her directorial debut for the Westwell Players, we are excited to start the process of creating a fun and exciting show for you all with plenty of comedic value. We welcomed new faces to the Westwell Players: Rachael Cook, Ryan Young and Ewan Knight. We are lucky to have such a broad and vibrant range of talent in our group although it certainly makes casting a tricky job!
At the end of last month, we attended two fantastic events: The Westwell Village Fete and The Players Picnic.

It was great to meet so many new faces at the fete (and a few familiar ones too!) and of course two of our Players had the extremely important job of taking on the role of the Westwell Village Fete cow.

The Players Picnic is always a great social opportunity and a chance for our families to get involved in the fun after losing us to rehearsals and shows for weeks on end! A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in arranging both events and a special thank you to Mary-Anne Pitt for creating a wonderful treasure hunt for everyone to enjoy at the picnic.

Tickets for ‘After the Beanstalk’ on the 27th, 28th and 29th November will go on sale October 1st, keep an eye on our social media. Panto tickets always sell out quick so make sure you don’t miss out when they go on sale. We’re certainly going to be REACHING NEW HEIGHTS with this show by taking a GIANT LEAP into adventure. You’ve got to BE-AN it to win it!
